The marketplace fee
10% of every completed sale is destroyed, permanently removing currency from circulation.
How the money works
Money buys NetroCoins. NetroCoins buy items. Nothing converts back out. This page exists because an economy nobody can inspect is one nobody should trust.
The rule
Game currencies that can be cashed out have to be run like financial products, and they collapse the moment rewards outrun demand. Ours cannot leave, so neither problem exists.
A player buys NetroCoins with a card or with NEXX. This is the only way NetroCoins are created.
Cases, cosmetics, Gems and listings on the marketplace. Prices are stable because NetroCoins do not float.
Items are listed, priced and sold by the people who own them. The house takes a flat fee and destroys it.
NetroCoins never convert back into money or into a tradeable asset. What comes in stays in, and circulates.
Three balances
Gems can be bought with NetroCoins, never the other way round. Only NetroCoins touch the marketplace — if Gems did, a player could farm market value purely by playing, and the closed loop would not be closed.
| Balance | Where it comes from | Where it is spent | Marketplace | Leaves the system |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GemsEarned by playing | Won in battle, and purchasable with NetroCoins. | In-game store. | No | No |
| NetroCoinsBought with money | Purchased in the store, with a card or with NEXX. | Store and the player marketplace. | Yes | No |
| NEXXOptional, outside the loop | Acquired on the open market, or earned from drops. | Buys NetroCoins at checkout. One direction only. | No | Already outside it |
Marketplace fee
10%Flat, for everyone, on every completed sale. Charged to the seller on a completed sale. The buyer pays the listed price. Minimum 1 NetroCoin per sale, so cheap items cannot be traded for free to spam the market.
NetroCoins are a liability, not revenue. When someone pays for 500 NetroCoins, the money is already earned — from that moment we owe them 500 coins’ worth of goods. Destroying the fee reduces what we owe, at no cost, and keeps the supply of NetroCoins from growing forever.
It also means the marketplace does not make money by taking coins. It makes money by removing them: destroyed supply has to be replaced, and the only way to create new NetroCoins is for someone to buy them. That is the engine, and it runs on people playing, not on anyone speculating.
Sinks
Every game economy that dies, dies the same way: items keep being printed and nothing removes them. Three mechanisms remove supply here, and they are not optional extras.
10% of every completed sale is destroyed, permanently removing currency from circulation.
Cases are produced in finite runs and retired. A retired case never returns, so the items inside it stop being printed.
Combining items consumes them. Several ordinary items become one rarer item, and the originals are gone.
Rewards
Prize pools are funded by NEXX that players spent in the store, not minted from a reserve. That single rule is what keeps rewards alive instead of generous for a year and then gone.
Destroyed permanently. Supply falls with every purchase, and anyone can verify it on-chain.
Crypto boxes, tournaments and the creator program.
Servers, tooling and the running costs that keep the project alive.
Settled in weekly batches from the treasury and published with the transactions that prove it. This is the current policy, not a permanent guarantee — a change would be announced in advance. Early on, with few purchases, the pool is small and drops are rare. That is honest, and it grows with the games rather than running out.
NEXX pays into this economy and never out of it. Read what it does, what it does not do, and what its current status is.
